Child Safety Standards

Bored People Chat is an anonymous public chat room for people 13 and older. We prohibit child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE), including child sexual abuse material (CSAM), and we act on reports that violate these standards.

Age requirement

You must be 13 or older to use Bored People Chat. If you are under 13, do not use the service. We do not knowingly allow under-13 users to participate.

Prohibition of CSAE and CSAM

Bored People Chat explicitly prohibits child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE), including any creation, sharing, solicitation, or possession of child sexual abuse material (CSAM), grooming, or sexualization of minors. This applies to chat messages, images, GIFs, links, profile content, guestbook notes, and any other user-generated content on Bored People Chat.

Reporting and in-app feedback

Users can report abusive or unsafe content through the in-app report controls in chat. You may also email concerns to admin@boredpeoplechat.com.

How we respond

When we obtain actual knowledge of CSAM or CSAE on Bored People Chat, we take appropriate action. That includes removing content, restricting or blocking accounts or IP addresses, preserving relevant records when required, and reporting confirmed CSAM to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) or the relevant regional authority, in accordance with applicable child safety laws.

Compliance

Bored People Chat is operated to comply with applicable child safety laws and regulations, including processes for reviewing reports, removing prohibited material, and reporting confirmed CSAM to the appropriate authority.
